Patricia Kent Blabon Joiner was born in Bryn Mawr, PA, and moved to Fort Lauderdale, FL in 1956. Pat and her husband John were blessed with four children, three in-law children, eight grandchildren, and one great granddaughter.
Pat began her journey in art in 1987 by taking several art classes taught by local artists, several college courses, a lot of time studying art on her own, as well as entering art competitions. When she began painting, she avoided anything that included faces and figures, thinking it would be impossible to capture the real likeness and essence of people she knew and loved. Pat said, "That has all changed. It is so exciting to creatively paint the true likeness of people, animals and figures for commissioned work. I am grateful that the Creator of these wonderful faces has taught me how to paint them." Pat competes in shows, critiques, teaches, and demonstrates art techniques, and helps with non-profit organizations.
Pat has won over 30 awards, and has had her work displayed in public buildings, museums, galleries, as well as in businesses and homes.
