Through the Arts in Public Places Program of the Arts & Humanites Council of Charlotte County, during September and October, 2010, Fran will be exhibiting her watercolors at Gables East, South Port Square, 23053 Westchester Boulevard in Port Charlotte.  

Fran's painting "Hibiscus in the Snow" won an Honorable Mention Award in the June/July, 2010 Firecracker Exhibit at the Visual Art Center in Punta Gorda. 

Her intriguing portrait "Dora Mae" was awarded an Honorable Mention Ribbon in the Visual Art Center's Prima Vera Spring Exhibit, April, 2010.

 

Fran Richardson is a watercolorist who began painting at an early age and received formal training in college.  She has studied under renowned watercolorists, professional instructors, and has participated in many workshops and classes.  Fran continues with advanced studies to enhance her skills in watercolors and portraits.  She has won several honorable mentions as well as second places in art shows, and has had her paintings showcased in one-woman shows.  Fran truly loves watercolors and the way the paints ebb and flow, allowing a mystical quality to guide her through the painting process.  Her subjects are varied and she is always open to new methods, approaches and techniques.

Fran is also currently a member of Charlotte Arts & Humanities Council, the Visual Arts Center in Punta Gorda, and is an associate member of the National Watercolor Society, the American Watercolor Society, and the Florida Watercolor Society.
