Barbara's semi-abstract watercolor seascape "Moment in Time" won Second Place in the Visual Art Center's November, 2009 Harvest of Art Exhibition, Charlotte County's oldest and most prestigious annual juried exhibit.
Barbara has been accepted into The National League of American Pen Women, Inc. Founded in 1897, it is the oldest women's arts organization in America. Formed to promote the development of the creative talents of professional women artists, writers, and composers, the League boasts a membership of more than 4,000 women with apporximately 200 branches throughout the United States.
Barbara Albin has been painting, teaching, and exhibiting her work for over 40 years. Her paintings are in many private and corporate collections throughout the United States. She has been in hundreds of juried shows locally and nationally with many awards to her credit. Currently, Barbara teaches watercolor at the Visual Art Center in Punta Gorda. She has also juried art shows, and will soon be presenting art workshops. Barbara Albin was born and raised in the Chicago Area and is a graduate of Northern Illinois University. She moved to Punta Gorda, FL with her husband Wayne in December of 2000.
